Denture Wearers & Dental Implants

What is All-on-4 dental implants or Teeth in a Day?

All-on-4 dental implants are best suited to patients who have either failing teeth or no teeth, especially those who are currently wearing dentures as a solution.

How do same-day dental implants work?

    • The All-on-4 dental implants procedure replaces a whole arch or both arches of missing/failing teeth.
    • A fixed bridge is attached to dental implants – all in one visit.
    • On the day of surgery, any remaining teeth are extracted, and 4-6 implants are placed.
    • Usually, six implants are placed in the upper arch, with four in the lower arch.
    • Some bone augmentation may also be carried out as part of the procedure.
    • Our lab technicians adapt a custom-made temporary bridge, attached by the clinician to the supporting implants.

Denture Wearers & Dental Implants

Dentures can correct problems resulting from missing teeth, since dentures replace the structure and functionality of missing teeth.

Disadvantages with dentures range from being loose, uncomfortable and unstable, especially when eating or speaking. Denture wearers often report that their speech is impaired and that they cannot taste their food properly.

Fortunately, there is a solution using dental implants. They can be placed to provide a denture-stable and comfortable foundation. As for the disadvantages of speech impairment and not being able to taste food properly, this is solved by the implant-supported denture being horseshoe-shaped- there is no need for a plate.

Implants Provide Denture Stabilisation

Problems occurring from loose dentures can be solved, ensuring that people are free from discomfort, lisping and awkwardness that dentures bring.

Implants can hold dentures securely in place with either a detachable denture (known as an overdenture) or a fixed denture (known as a hybrid denture), removing the potential for the denture to become loose and move about inside the mouth, causing discomfort.
